Brow Lift
Procedure

A brow lift, also known as a forehead lift, restores a more refreshed and youthful appearance by lifting the brows and softening forehead lines. If drooping brows or deep creases leave you looking tired, stern, or older than you feel, a brow lift can rejuvenate the upper face while preserving your natural expression.

About the Procedure

What is a Brow Lift?

A brow lift, also known as a forehead lift, is a surgical procedure designed to correct sagging eyebrows, smooth forehead creases, and restore a more refreshed, youthful appearance to the upper face.
As the upper face ages, the brow doesn’t just wrinkle. It descends. Skin loses its scaffolding, gravity does the rest, and the eyebrows settle lower on the face than they did a decade ago. The result is heaviness over the eyes, deeper frown lines, and an expression that no longer matches how you feel inside. In some cases, a drooping brow may even accentuate excess skin on the upper eyelids.
A brow lift repositions the brow to where it used to be, softening horizontal forehead creases and frown lines in the process, without erasing character in your face. Done well, it doesn’t look like surgery, it looks like rest.

Brow Lift Techniques

Why Choose a
Brow Lift?

Not every brow needs the same lift. Dr. McIntosh selects the technique based on your anatomy, the degree of descent, and your desired result.
The most common technique, an endoscopic brow lift is a minimally invasive procedure that involves several tiny incisions hidden within the hairline. These incisions allow passage for a camera and fine instruments for Dr. McIntosh to see and reposition the brow tissue with millimeter precision. Scarring is virtually undetectable, and recovery is quicker than most patients expect.
A more targeted approach, this technique focuses on lifting the outer third of the eyebrow, where drooping usually shows first. Performed through a single incision concealed within the hairline, an excess ellipses of skin is removed. This elevates the lateral brow, softens heaviness around the eyes and smooths the temple area. Subtle by design, a temporal brow lift is ideal for patients who want removed heaviness, not a visibly “done” brow.

Brow Lift Candidate Requirements

Am I a Candidate?

If two or three of these sound familiar, a brow lift is worth discussing. The right approach to your face based on your anatomy and desired outcome is something Dr. McIntosh carefully maps out during consultation. You may be a suitable candidate for a brow lift if you:

Low Brow Position

Have low, heavy or drooping eyebrows

Forehead Lines

Notice deep forehead lines or frown creases

Heavy Eyelids

Experience heaviness in the upper eyelid area due to brow descent

Tired Expression

Feel that your eyes appear tired, angry or sad despite feeling well-rested

Healthy & Realistic

Are in good overall health and have realistic expectations regarding the outcome of surgery

Brow Lift Recovery & Results

What to Expect During the Recovery Process

During the initial healing period, expect some swelling, mild bruising, and a tightness across the forehead that fades faster than most patients anticipate.
Light activity resumes within days. Most patients are comfortable back in professional or social settings after 10 to 14 days, depending on the extent of the procedure and individual healing. Strenuous exercise should be avoided for several weeks to allow for optimal recovery.
As swelling settles, the results reveal themselves gradually: brighter eyes, a smoother forehead, and an expression that looks as rested as you feel. The brow sits higher, but shouldn’t look “lifted”. The goal is to restore a naturally youthful position to the brows while preserving the unique characteristics that make your face your own. Many patients combine a brow lift with blepharoplasty, facelift surgery, necklift surgery, or skin rejuvenation, addressing several signs of aging in a single, coordinated plan rather than one feature at a time.

What to Know About Brow Lifts

Frequently Asked Questions

A brow lift starts from $15,000, excluding consultation fees. The final cost will depend on the surgical technique used and whether the procedure is performed on its own or in combination with other facial rejuvenation procedures. Following your consultation, Dr Cameron McIntosh will provide you with a personalised treatment plan and quotation.

No. The aim of a brow lift is to restore the brows to a naturally youthful position, not to create an exaggerated or permanently raised appearance. Dr McIntosh’s approach focuses on subtle rejuvenation that preserves your natural facial expressions.

While the natural ageing process continues, the results of a brow lift are long-lasting. Many patients enjoy a more refreshed, youthful appearance for many years following surgery.

There is no ideal age for a brow lift. The decision is based on the position of your brows, the degree of skin laxity and your individual concerns rather than your age. During your consultation, Dr McIntosh will assess your facial anatomy and recommend the treatment that’s right for you.

In some patients, yes. When the brows have descended significantly, they can contribute to heaviness over the upper eyelids and partially obstruct peripheral vision. Raising the brows can improve both facial appearance and, in suitable cases, visual function.
